Pack 1220 Fundraising
Welcome to the Popcorn Program!
Fundraising for every Pack is important to Scouting, not only for the exceptional programs it allows, but also the life skills it teaches your Scout like goal setting, public speaking, and self-motivation. Popcorn sales are the sole annual fundraiser for Pack 1220. We require modest annual dues to cover registration fees but all the costs for other activities and camping comes solely from Popcorn Sales. This keeps costs for parents as low as possible while enabling a fantastic program for the Scouts throughout the year. In addition to funding our Pack, popcorn offers some great benefits including:

1. Scout and Pack Sales Goals for 2022
Pack 1220 sales goals are listed below. These goals are set by the Committee to ensure that the Pack can meet our annual financial obligations to include meeting facility rental fees, activity/campout fees & supplies, awards and achievement recognitions, and to ensure that we remain financially solvent with a reserve fund cushion.

2. Pack 1220 – 3 Ways to Sell
Pack 1220 currently sells popcorn 3 ways. We encourage you to figure out which way works best for you and your family! On average, your Scout will sell $100 per hour when working a store front. Make a commitment to set your individual Scout selling goal to $500. Seems like a lot but the average credit card sale is $60! Add in online sales, and you can achieve this easier than ever. Here’s how we sell.
A. Online Sales
Online Direct sales allow Scouts to sell to friends and family online. Scouts setup their Trail’s End account by downloading the Trail’s End App, and they can sell face-to-face or share their fundraising page via email, social media and text message. Customers pay via credit/debit securely, and the products ship directly to them from Trail’s End. This is the SAFEST fundraising option for Scouts.
B. Storefront Sales Your popcorn committee coordinates locations to set up booths in high foot traffic locations throughout your community. One or two Scouts and at least 1 Parent will complete 1 hour shifts to conduct sales using their Trails End Aps.
C. Wagon Sales / Customer Direct Scouts go door-to-door or sell orders directly to the customer selling directly from the Trails End app. Customers pay for their order via credit card (entered manually) and have the product shipped directly to them! Scouts only have to visit each customer one time to make a sale.

8. American Heroes Donation Program
When a customer purchases an American Heroes Donation, a portion goes back to local Scouting and the remaining popcorn equivalent is donated to the first responders and the U.S. Military. Trail’s End has teamed up with Soldiers’ Angels to distribute the popcorn to VA Hospitals, National Guard units, and military bases across the country.

LAST WORD: It’s not really about the Popcorn!
We know, we know, this popcorn is sort of pricey! But in reality, your Scout isn’t really just selling Popcorn, is he/she? They are selling Scouting and asking for help with the opportunity to continue their adventure with customer support to meet their personal goals. Help your customers understand that Scouting isn’t free and their support helps our kids learn to be good citizens, to help in our community and to build life long skills and memories. Three Top Selling Tips: 1. Always wear your uniform and introduce yourself with a smile. 2. Always be courteous and say “Thank You” even if the customer does not make a purchase. 3. Write and practice your own special popcorn sales pitch. Example Speech: “Hi, my name is Cubbie Scout and I’m with Pack 1220! I’m earning my way to summer camp. Can I count on your support?” Trails End has some great videos about how to practice and develop YOUR POPCORN PITCH |
